Skin Cancer Removal

Surgical Excision

Surgical excision of skin cancer (from the neck down), is procedure in which we excise the biopsy-confirmed skin cancer based on what is visible to the clinician’s naked eye along with a margin of normal skin. The tissue is sent off for pathological analysis to confirm that all the cancer cells have been removed. This procedure is performed under sterile conditions in the medical office, using local anesthesia. The site is closed with sutures which are removed at a later specified date.
